ANZPT Queensland: Scott riding wave of success

Stewart Scott has recently relocated to the Gold Coast from Adelaide, and life in Australia's Sunshine State certainly seems to be agreeing with the 2009 Aussie Millions champion.

Earlier today, he caught a few waves at famous local break Duranbah (former world surfing champion Mark Occhilupo was also there this morning) and stopped in at one of his favourite brekky spots before heading up to Jupiters.

Could the guy look more relaxed? A PokerStars Qualifier for ANZPT Queensland, Scott just picked off another opponent when he flopped a full-house against a set of queens to take his stack to more than 170,000. "This one's mine," he whispered as we left the table.

Danny Joukhadar has regained his chip lead here with more than 270,000, most of those coming from fellow big stack Sean Cowell who recently departed the tournament area. Graeme Putt has also been eliminated after coin-flipping with pocket eights against A-10.

We've also farewelled the first of the four remaining Team Australia pros in action today, Celina Lin. Having lost most of her chips to Linda Tyler (the females are faring much better here than in Brisbane), Lin pushed over the top of Scott Smith's pre-flop raise to 4000, with the Sydneysider priced in for the extra 4500.

This doesn't look good ... Celina Lin shortly before departing the tournament area at Jupiters

She looked in reasonable shape holding A♥ 5♥ against Smith's 9♦ 7♥, and she rode the roller coaster on a board of 9♥ 5♠ [10h] 2♣ Q♠ but the pair of nines were good.

Celina's focus now turns to her "home away from home" Macau, which will host the opening event in season three of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour later this month. We'll be at the Grand Lisboa Hotel and Casino in Macau from August 25-30 for the APPT Macau Main Event and High Roller.
