ANZPT Sydney: Brekky feast before tackling the beast

A foggy start has made way for glorious sunshine for the opening day of the 2010 ANZPT Sydney Main Event. It's last orders at the many restaurants that dot nearby Darling Harbour as players start to head back to Star City for the first of two day one flights in what promises to again be the largest event on Australasia's premier poker tour for 2010.

In addition to scores of PokerStars Qualifiers and players who've satellited at the Star City poker room, today's line-up will include two Team Australia Pros, Sydney's own Eric Assadourian and Emad Tahtouh, ANZPT Adelaide winner Rennie Carnevale, 2009 APPT Auckland champ Simon Watt and Chris Levick, runner-up in last year's ANZPT Player of the Year award.

Due to the late finish of the Tony Hachem Bounty event and ANZPT Sydney High Roller events, it's a pretty quiet morning in the Star City Poker room, with the exception of the "big game", which should be due to wrap-up for the night - at 11.30am - soon.

However, the peace and quiet won't last long as the 24 tournament tables will soon be packed with players seeking a shot at ANZPT glory. We expect cards to be in the air at 12.30pm. For our international followers, Sydney is GMT +10 hours.
