APPT Manila: Nelson's first battle
Team PokerStars Pro Lee Nelson has started sailing through today's events, and has been confronted by some choppy waters.
On the third hand of the day, with blinds at 25/50 and an unchanged starting stack of 10,000 chips, after one player limped in, Nelson raised the pot to 200. Everyone else folded, except for the player who had limped.
The board came Jc-Tc-2d, and the pot was checked to Nelson. He bet 325, and was quickly called.
The 6c on the turn completed a possible flush, and both players checked. A 5h on the river generated no betting, and both players checked again.
Nelson was defeated by Q-T for a pair of tens, and Nelson mucked his hand. Having lost only 525 chips, he is certainly still in the battle.
