10:50pm: Ten-minute break
10:43pm: Grigg falls further
In a limped pot, action checked to the turn on a board of A♦6♣K♣J♥ where Tom Grigg took a stab with a bet of 100,000. Brotha D called and both players checked the Q♣ river.
Brotha D opened Q♠6♥ for two pair which was good as Grigg mucked.
Next hand, Grigg opened to 130,000 and Brotha D three-bet to 400,000. Grigg folded to slip down even further. He's now at 1.03 million with Brotha D up to 2.85 million.
10:35pm: Grigg on the slide
Tom Grigg raised to 130,000 and Brotha D made the call. The flop landed K♦8♠5♦ and Brotha D check-called a bet of 150,000. The turn was the 5♣ and both checked to see the 6♥ hit the river. Brotha D fired 250,000 and Grigg gave it up.
Soon after,Tom Grigg raised to 130,000 from the button and Brotha D popped it 400,000. Grigg stared down his opponent but folded once again to slip down to just 1.3 million - the lowest point he has been at for this entire heads-up battle.
10:29pm: Another all in, another chop
Brotha D limped the button and Tom Grigg raised to 250,000. Brotha D came over the top for all of his chips and Grigg made the call!
Brotha D: A♥K♥
Once again their all-in clash had produced the same holdings and again the two chopped on the A♦5♣2♣J♦6♣ board.
It seems that this heads-up battle will never end!
10:22pm: Grigg finds a rare three-bet
Brotha D raised to 130,000 from the button before Tom Grigg put in a very rare three-bet to 300,000. Brotha D made the call and the flop landed 7♦Q♦3♠. Grigg fired out a bet of 350,000 which was good to take it down.
10:19pm: Brotha D turns it around
This heads-up battle has been intense with the chip lead being exchanged on many occasions. Tom Grigg has never been desperately short, but incredibly Brotha D has come back from the brink to now hold the chip lead once again.
After taking down a couple of small pots, we saw Brotha D call a preflop raise, and bet of 150,000 on the flop of 6♣5♣3♠. Both players checked the K♠ turn before Brotha D fired a bet of 350,000 on the 4♦ river. Grigg insta-folded and Brotha D's fans found some voice once again as things have squared right up once again!
10:10pm: River lifeline for Brotha D
Tom Grigg moved all in preflop with A♦5♠ and Brotha D decided he needed to gamble with a call holding 7♦6♥.
The flop landed 3♥T♥9♥ to give Brotha D additional straight and flush outs to stay alive. The 5♦ turn wasn't one of them but the 8♥ river brought a flush to the roars of the Kiwis on the rail.
Grigg sighed, "Just die Brotha D" with tongue in cheek.
"Well, you tried!" replied Brotha D. He doubles to 1.16 million with Grigg down to 2.72 million.
10:02pm: Grigg turns up the heat
Tom Grigg is really turning on the pressure now with a series of big preflop raises to put Brother D to the test.
In the first hand, Grigg raised to 130,000 before Brotha D popped it to 360,000. Grigg moved all in and Brotha D folded to save his last 800,000.
From there Grigg has been moving all in preflop on most hands to put maximum pressure on Brotha D who has now blinded down to around 600,000.
9:50pm: Level up, blinds 30000-60000, ante 5000
9:49pm: Brotha D doubles up!
Just when Brotha D was on his knees, he has found a desperate double up to send this heads-up contest into its fourth hour of play.
Tom Grigg raised the button to 100,000 and Brotha D made the call to see a flop of 5♦J♥4♦. Brotha D checked and Grigg bet his standard 100,000. Brotha D check-raised all in and Grigg snap-called!
Brotha D: J♣5♣
"Sneaky, sneaky!" said Grigg.
"Just trying to be like you," replied Brotha D.
The turn was the 3♠ and river the K♦, missing Grigg and giving Brotha D the double. He's back up to 1.28 million with Grigg at 2.6 million.
9:47pm: Broadway for Grigg
Brotha D raised to 100,000 and Tom Grigg called in the big blind to see a flop of K♥Q♦K♣. Both players checked and the turn was the T♠. Again it was check, check, until the river brought the J♦. Grigg checked again to Brotha D who fired 100,000. Grigg then announced a raise to 300,000 and Brotha D made the call.
"Ace," said Grigg as he opened A♣4♦ for the rivered straight. Brotha D shook his head and released his cards to slip to just 900,000 as Grigg once again holds a commanding lead with 2.98 million.
9:39pm: Brotha D misses
From the button, Tom Grigg raised to 100,000 and Brotha D made the call. They took a flop of 2♦A♥7♥ and both players checked to see the A♦ hit the turn. Brotha D checked and Grigg fired 100,000. Brotha D then announced another check-raise as he made it 300,000. Grigg made the call and both players checked down the 9♠ river.
Brotha D showed Q♥2♥ for a busted flush draw as Grigg's 7♠4♣ was good. Brotha D slips back down to 1.1 million with Grigg at 2.78 million.
9:35pm: All in and chopped up
It seems like this deadlock will never be broken. We've just had our first big preflop clash with both players committing their chips preflop, however the theatrics were all for nothing as the hand ended rather anti-climactically.
Brother D limped the button before Tom Grigg popped it to 200,000 from the big blind. Brotha D then announced a raise of his own, making it 500,000 to play. Grigg moved all in and Brotha D made the call.
Brotha D: A♣J♥
The board ran out 2♠2♥4♣J♠8♥ and the players chopped it up, much to the dismay of the crowd who are ready to find a winner!
9:25pm: Grigg sails ahead
Brotha D raised to 100,000 and Tom Grigg made the call out of the big blind. The flop landed 8♥2♣8♦ and both players checked. The turn brought the J♥ and Grigg led out with a bet of 100,000. Brotha D made the call as the 8♣ completed the board on the river. Grigg bet out again, this time for 300,000 with Brotha D making the call.
Grigg opened J♠4♠ for a full house, eights full of jacks, which was good as Brotha D mucked. Grigg jumps up to 2.61 million with Brotha D down to 1.27 million.
9:22pm: Another check-raise for Brotha D
Once again the check-raise has worked for Brotha D.
Tom Grigg raised to 100,000 on the button and Brotha D made the call as the flop landed K♥8♥7♦. Brotha D checked and Grigg made his standard continuation bet of 100,000. Brotha D check-raised to 250,000 and was again successful as Grigg tossed his cards into the muck.
Brotha D has recovered well and is now back to 1.78 million, with Grigg on 2.1 million.
9:15pm: Brotha D not done with just yet
After being down as low as 890,000, Brotha D has chipped up over a series of small pots to get himself back to 1.48 million.
The latest saw Tom Grigg raised from the button to 100,000 and Brotha D make the call in the big blind. The flop landed Q♠6♠K♠ and Brotha D checked to Grigg who bet out 100,000. Brotha D put in a check-raise to 250,000 and Grigg quickly folded.
9:04pm: Back to back monster pots for Grigg
Tom Grigg raised to 100,000 and Brother D made the call in the big blind. The flop was 3♣2♠2♥ and Brotha D check-called for another 100,000 as the 8♥ hit the turn. Brotha D checked and again called, this time for 250,000.
The river was the 4♦ and Brotha D checked again to Grigg who released a third bullet worth a massive 550,000. Brotha D thought for a moment or two before announcing a call.
Grigg opened T♥T♣ and Brotha D simply tapped the table and tossed his cards into the muck.
Back to back monster pots for Grigg jumps him out to a big lead with 2.63 million against Brotha D's 1.25 million.
8:58pm: Grigg flushes Brotha D
After Brotha D won the first few pots after the break to extend his chip lead, Tom Grigg has just taken down one of his first big pots of this heads-up battle.
Brotha D raised the button to 100,000 and Grigg made the call to see a flop of 4♣Q♣2♥. Both players checked and the turn was the 2♣. Grigg led out for 100,000 and Brotha D made the call.
The river brought the J♠ and Grigg led again for 300,000 with Brotha D announcing a call.
Grigg tabled 7♣3♣ for a flush which was good as Brotha D tapped the table and mucked. Grigg collects the million chip pot to get back to 1.6 million against Brotha D's 2.2 million.
8:50pm: Play resumes
