APPT Melbourne: Craving for aces dipped in chocolate
The 60-ish remaining players are currently enjoying their dinner break. For the dedicated live reporting team, that one hour entails a run to the food court to scoff something suitably unhealthy before checking the sports betting agencies to see which AFL bets we'll be placing on tonight's games.
One hour isn't a lot of time for a good meal, but Crown do have a number of fantastic options for our players.
For those who enjoy quality restaurants, Giuseppe Arnaldo & Sons is a deceptively good option, Nobu and Number 8 are popular choices, Koko offers fantastic Japanese Teppanyaki while Rockpool is always first class. Hopefully the players who went for this option had some thoughtful friends who booked a table and ordered in advance as one hour is not a lot of time to appreciate a delicious meal.
Crown also have a number of great casual dining restaurants. Margo's on the main gaming floor has been around a while but always delivers great seafood, Lucky Chan is a good choice for Chinese, and Sho Noodle Bar is good value. They are a great choice to get in and out in an hour while still getting a quality meal.
If you're in a hurry then the Food Court is conveniently located directly above the Crown Poker Room. There are options to suit every palette but we always do our fair share to help out Little India when we're in town with our love of a good curry.
Whatever our players have chosen, they probably don't have a lot of time for dessert. Perhaps that will come in the form of a nice double up with pocket aces dipped in chocolate sauce. Yummmm!
And with that thought, it looks like we're back in action. Tom Grigg, Haibo Chu and Wayne Bentley would've enjoyed their dinner the most - they're our chip leaders with three more levels or so to play this evening before we wrap things up for the day.
Speaking of Tom Grigg, he caught up with PokerStars hostess Lynn Gilmartin for a chat just prior to the break:
