APPT Melbourne: Win a Jeep...or nine
For those heading down to the Crown Poker Room over the next few weeks, you have the opportunity to share in a fantastic promotion where six lucky poker players will have the opportunity to win a stunning red 2012 Jeep Wrangler. The jeep is on display in the poker room if you want to check it out!
The competition is free to enter and open to anyone who has a Crown Signature Club card. All you have to do is obtain an entry ticket at the poker registration desk or from staff who will be distributing additional entry tickets to players who are playing at the tables every hour from 4pm through until midnight. That's right, even our players here in the APPT Main Event will be eligible to grab entries to win themselves a brand new jeep! There is however a maximum of ten entries per player, per day.
Every Sunday afternoon up until September 23rd a winner will be randomly drawn from the barrel of entries. That winner will be guaranteed $1,000 and will have a one in six shot at winning the jeep!
Earlier today PokerStars hostess Lynn Gilmartin turned barrel girl as she was responsible for drawing out this week's winner, with three more opportunities for players to qualify for the major draw over the coming weeks.
At the end of the promotion the six prizes winners will again go into a random draw where someone will drive home a brand new jeep valued at $35,790. It's certainly worthwhile to scratch your name on a free ticket for a shot at that prize! In fact, it's the equivalent of reaching the final table and finishing roughly in 8th place in the Main Event. Although with our APPT Melbourne champion set to pocket $326,125, that's the equivalent of winning nine jeeps! He could have one in red, green, blue, black, white, yellow, grey, purple and pink!
At the moment, the man most likely to require extensions to his garage is Australian Tom Grigg who has made a staggering comeback to claim the chip lead. A monster clash with Liam O'Rourke saw Grigg's pocket aces too strong for O'Rourke's ace-king as Grigg stormed up to 1.3 million in chips. Wayne Bentley (900,000) and Tam Truong (680,000) are the next best with 17 players remaining.
