ACOP Main Event Day 4: Perfect preparation
There's nothing better than waking up on the fourth day of a long poker tournament and being able to spend a relaxing morning before heading into work. The Hard Rock Hotel, combined with a 3:00pm start time is the perfect location to do exactly that.
Feeling a little peckish? Then the Hard Rock Cafe on Level 2 is the perfect spot for a truly international array of culinary delights.
Want a work out to relieve a little stress? There's a gym on Level 3 of the Hard Rock with a heap of modern gym machines to run, lift or ride in any way you desire.
If that's a little too energetic for you then head outside from the gym to the pool side area. The enormous pool is perfect for a few slow laps or lazing in one of the nearby deck chairs. It's also a great spot to order some brunch while satisfying your degeneracy with a few hands of Open Face Chinese poker! There's also the spa nearby if you prefer a quick massage.
Or perhaps you want to walk it off. The Cotai Strip has a number of great casinos nearby with the enormous Venetian Casino just a three-minute walk across the road.
Besides one of the largest gaming floors you'll even see, the Venetian has a heap of great restaurants and a food court for a bite before play. There's also an abundance of shops throughout the complex to help you part ways with your hard-earned Patacas. Clothes, shoes, souvenirs, technology, kid's toys and there's even a dedicated Manchester United store for you soccer-mad hooligans out there.
We hope our surviving 25 players in the ACOP Main Event have enjoyed their morning. Whatever they got up to, we hope it helped them unwind from three days on the felt, and re-focus for another big day ahead. They've guaranteed themselves at least HK$198,000, assuming they didn't spend that shopping this morning. And now, it only gets better from here as the pay jumps climb all the way to the ACOP final table.
American Jonathan Depa leads the way with a monster stack, but the likes of Terry Fan, Aidan Tam, Yoshitaka Okawa, Devan Tang and Team PokerStars Onlne members Randy Lew and Naoya Kihara are all still in contention.
Stay tuned to the PokerStars Blog throughout the day as we bring you the stories both on and off the felt, while the team at PokerNews bring you all the action from the felt on the way to our ACOP Main Event final table.
