APPT8 Macau Millions: Return of the Macau Millions

Darkness, Ms and 7s have descended on the PokerStars LIVE Macau room.

The darkness is caused by a phenomena called nighttime. It's affected Macau since the beginning of time and tends to be prevalent at 7 p.m., the current time here in Macau.

What's different this day, March 7, is poker madness that hasn't been seen in nearly three years. The Macau Millions is back in PokerStars LIVE Macau for the first time since 2011 and is looking to make another big splash. Back in 2011, the tournament drew the largest field in Asia and staff are expecting at least 1,000 entries this time around.

To lure those crowds of players, the tournament has a big M: Millions. The guarantee for this HKD $2,200 buy-in event is HKD $2 million. While many will flock to it, only a few will reach it.

To get a piece of the millions, players have to reach a 7. Only the top 7 percent of the field will survive Day 1 and play won't stop until we get there. Those survivors will cash for a minimum of HKD $8,000 and then have one of two choices: They can rest until Day 2 -- on March 15 -- or they can play again tomorrow, or the day after that.

There are six Day 1s in this event and players are allowed to play as many as their hearts and wallets can take. The incentive for repeat survivors isn't more chips -- in fact, their smaller stacks get removed from play -- it's for HKD.

Players who survive an additional Day 1 will get an instant cash bonus of HKD $11,000. It's live-turbo-Macau madness put on a speedboat and thrown into a tornado.

It's also about to start.
