EPT Barcelona: To the point

It's getting deep into the night on day two of EPT Barcelona. The players have had their dinner and are now back to play down to the final 32 - or the more snappy "September (four multiplied by) Eight".

Here's a run down of the tournament right now in bullet point form:

  • There are 80 players left.
  • They have just entered level 14, where the blinds are 1,200-2,400 (ante: 300)
  • The Danish PokerStars qualifier Jonas Klausen is jostling with the PokerStars sponsored player Sebastian Ruthenberg for the chip lead
  • The new, yellow chip has been introduced to play, worth 5,000
  • Chad Brown is the final Team PokerStars Pro in the field
  • There is a new fashion for elaborate chip towers
  • Jason Mercier prefers a chip pyramid
  • EPT regulars Thierry Van Den Berg, Jonas Molander, Ramzi Jelassi, Michael Greco, Voitto Rintala and Michael Keiner are all still in
  • Glen Chorny is out
  • The nose-bleed cash game tables feature Tim Phan, Valdemar Kwaysser, Patric Martessen and William Thorson
  • We're still intending to play down to 32 players tonight
  • I don't reckon we'll make it, but I'll be happy to be proved wrong
