The real reason why Stephen Bartley looks so odd

ept-thumb-promo.jpgAnyone here in Barcelona this week can't help to have noticed the rather unpleasant hairy item on PokerStars blogger Stephen Bartley's top lip. While some may call it a moustache, we prefer to call it a rodent. And a ginger one at that.

But before we go too far down the road of relentless mickey-taking, it should be made clear that Bartley is actually growing this oddity for a reason. Far from wanting to look like a World War Two British Army officer, he's actually trying to raise money for charity.

You see in the UK, and maybe elsewhere, there is something called Movember--where you can grow a moustache during November for charity. Bartley, ever keen to donate to good causes (you should see him at the poker table), jumped at the chance.

And that horrendous hamster under his nose is the result.

Donations to Bartley's efforts can be done here on the official Movember site, where all funds raised will be sent to the Prostate Cancer Charity, a worthwhile cause. I'd urge you to support it, as it may persuade him to repeat the growth next year and give us another laugh.

By way of further explanation, Bartley said: "This Movember, the month formerly known as November, I've decided to donate my face to raising awareness about prostate cancer. My donation and commitment is the growth of a moustache for the entire month of Movember, which I know will generate conversation, controversy and laughter."

Too right, my man.

Anyway, everyone here on media row at EPT Barcelona is sure Bartley's new look reminds us of someone else. We've wracked our brains, but we just can't seem to put our finger on it...
