EPT10 Barcelona: Thomas 'hitthehole' Middleton, Vitaly Lunkin and Thomas Muhlocker all take trophies
Season 10 of the European Poker Tour kicked off in Barcelona with big wins for Thomas 'hitthehole' Middleton, Vitaly Lunkin and Thomas Muhlocker, with oh-so-close finishes for the all-time-money list combatants Daniel Negreanu and Erik Seidel.
Middleton won the EPT Main Event for €942,000 after carrying the end of day chip lead for several days. Some fascinating deal discussions looked like they could have railroaded proceedings but Middleton eventually beat Kimmo Kurko heads-up for the title, the second season on the bounce that a Finn sporting a sparkly hat took that position following Ilari Sahamies in Season 9.
The festivities had kicked off with Vitaly Lunkin beating Erik Seidel in the €50,000 Super High Roller for €771,300. Seidel's score was enough to leapfrog him above Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth on the all-time money list, but that didn't last long. Negreanu clambered back over Seidel a week later with a runner-up finish in the €10,000 High Roller. Thomas Muhlocker won that one for €390,000, which you can read about by clicking here.
