EPT11 Barcelona: Dong Kim bubbles High Roller, 55 remain

Whilst the pace of eliminations in the Main Event has ground to a halt - it took over two and a half hours to go from 13 players to 12 - the opposite is true in the High Roller. So much so that the bubble has been and gone and the remaining players are in the money.

One of those at risk near the bubble was Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mericer, who tweeted about his double close to the pay outs.

Another Team Pro was not so lucky, Jake Cody busted eight from the money when his A♥Q♥ was out gunned by Shaun Deeb's pocket kings. Jean-Noel Thorel, Mark Teltscher and Marcin Wydrowski also fell close to the money. Wydrowski's exit was particularly curel as his pocket tens had Mustapha Kanit's pocket nines dominated until a nine appeared in the window.

We were now two off the bubble but it didn't create a pause in the action, during this period Marc-Andre Ladouceur, Ihar Soika and Agshin Rasulov all got their chips in the middle and all survived. In the case of Rasulov he actually tripled up. Elsewhere Ruben Visser and George Danzer made hero calls with king high and ace high respectively, both were right.

Danzer was an ace high hero

Something had to give and the bubble was in effect when Vadim Markushevski shoved with K♣Q♣ and couldn't hit his over card against the pocket queens of Toby Lewis.

During hand for hand play Dan Smith and Jacob Ohlund both doubled up to survive before Dong Kim would be the unfortunate 56th place finisher. His seven big blind three-bet shove with jacks losing out to Ami Barer's K♣9♠ when a king turned.

The celebratory tweets soon began:

Play is set to continue until 16 players remain, it's going to be a long night.
