EPT12 Malta: Tricks and treats at the festival welcome party

In the queue at the Dr Juice pop up juice bar in the tournament area this morning, I thought I sensed a slight surge in demand for the "Raw Detox" juice they sell.

It's a complex mixture of apple, carrot, celery, spinach, and avocado, designed to lift you out of the night before and land you refreshed and energised into the middle of Sunday afternoon. It's not clear if it works, but a few players seemed prepared to suspend any scepticism this morning, gulping it down as they came to terms with the night before.

The reason was obvious, for it was the Halloween themed EPT Player Party that took place in Portomaso tower last night.

If the images were anything to go by it was terrifying. But in the best possible way.

Make-up artist and designer Krista Paris was on hand to transform hosts and guests into freaks, ghouls and various kinds of weirdo, and to dazzling effect, having already created a welcoming committee to turn anyone to drink.

Fortunately drink, and general merriment, was at hand as guests enjoyed a warm welcome to the EPT Malta festival, with fabulous panoramic views of the island.

So players and guests enjoyed hospitality late into the night, taking away a few images likely to keep them awake. Either way the Raw Detox juice was waiting for them this morning.
