EPT Malta: Naydenov and Selbst ahead in the €2k; €3k PLO Turbo begins
Bracelet winner Simeon Naydenov and Team PokerStars Pro Vanesa Selbt are among those leading the €2k event as they reach the bubble. There are 48 players remaining but only 47 will get paid a minimum of €3,490 with €119,000 for the winner.
Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov, Team PokerStars Pro Online Marc-Andre Ladouceur, Stephen Chidiwck Fabrice Soulier and Joni Jouhkimainen are among those still involved.
The €3k Turbo PLO has kicked off with 70 players so far including Team PokerStars Pro Theo Jorgensen, Juha Helppi, Jorryt van Hoof, Michele Dattani, Philipp Gruissem, Jeff Rossiter, Sam Greenwood, Dani Stern, Mike Watson, Ilari Sahamies, Max Silver, Joao Barbosa, Barny Boatman, Dzmitry Urbanovich and Bryn Kenney. This is a one of two PLO events starting today, the other being the €200 PLO Turbo Deepstack. The latter event has over 100 runners so far including a (retired) Rolf Slotboom who said, "This is the only €200 they're getting from me this week..."
The other event going on is the €500 One Rebuy/One Add-on Super Satellite to tomorrow's EPT €10k High Roller. There's 95 players in that, a stacked field that includes Team PokerStars Pro Marcin Horecki, former EPT Player of the Year Fernando Brito, Eureka4 Prague champion Balazs Botond, EPT winner Michael Tureniec, Pierre Neuville, Kenny Hallaert, Artem Litvinov, Steven van Zadelhoff and Petr Jelinek.
Later on today there is the EPT Limit Stud Championships beginning at 3pm while the €1k Single Re-Entry at 4pm is likely to prove very popular with players here. There's another satellite to the EPT €10k High Roller at 7pm while the last event starting today will be a €300 Turbo Deepstack at 9pm.
