EPT12 Prague: Mid-day update: Farrell's back to back bid continues
The plan today in the Main Event is to play five levels. Each level lasts 90 minutes now and we're currently in the third of the day. The blinds are 2,500/5,000 ante 500. Let's take a look at the key action so far.
The most momentous moment on Day 3 is always the bubble bursting. Our own Brad Willis had that one covered and recounts what happened here.
Post bubble the bust outs have come pretty fast with 20 in the 45 minutes since the bubble went pop. But what of those with chips? Well Gavin O'Rourke is currently top dog of the 131 players who remain. He's got 840,000 which with blinds at 2,500/5,000 ante 500 is heaps. He got his biggest boost just 20 minutes into the day in a huge pot against Mustafa Biz.
In a four-bet pre-flop pot the two players saw a 8♣9♥3♦ flop hit the felt. There was about 100,000 in the pot and O'Rourke bet 40,000 only for Biz to shove all-in for an effective 190,000. The Irishman was taken aback by Biz's shove but called with K♣K♥ and was ahead of Biz's A♣K♠. The cowboys held up on the Q♠ turn and J♦ river.
Not far behind O'Rourke sits Samuel Vousden (805,000) and Niall Farrell (753,000). The back to back bid for EPT Main Event titles is well and truly on. Farrell, of course, triumphed at EPT12 Malta back in October and he's going along very nicely here in Prague too.

Plenty of big names missed out on cashing here in Prague. Team PokerStars Pro Chris Moneymaker was one of those to fall before the bubble as he was eliminated in the opening level of the day. It was a similar story for Team Pro Online's Mickey Petersen. He was short after doubling Mike McDonald with sixes versus sevens, and busted in a blind on blind battle against Vlado Banicevic.
James Akenhead ran kings into aces to bust, and Jean Montury couldn't hold with jacks against Andrea Cortellazzi's A♠K♠ as the Italian made a flush.
Other players to have exited include: David Vamplew, Fabrice Soulier, Christian Jeppsson, Fabio Sperling, Osman Mustanoglu, Alex Bilokur, Morten Mortensen, Roberto Romanello, Konstantin Puchkov and Rainer Kempe.
They all fell before the bubble burst whilst Anton Wigg, Mike McDonald and Dara O'Kearney are also out but all three secured a min-cash.
