Fedor Holz: Among stars in Event 63

Another day on the European Poker Tour and another bursting schedule of side events. The pick of them is the restart of the €2,000 no limit hold'em tournament, in which we find some of the game's leading lights.

With 35 left, the field still boasted Simon Deadman, Stephen Chidwick, Davidi Kitai, Fedor Holz, Dietrich Fast and Josip Simunic. I wasn't actually around when it happened, but piecing together a story from Tomas Stacha's photos, it seems that Luciana Manolea went out on the bubble.

There's a prize pool of €595,580 now being carved up and a top prize of €119,400. I may drop in to do some hand-by-hand reporting on the final as and when that is decided.

Elsewhere in the room, the field in the Omaha 8 tournament includes Jean-Noel Thorel, Fabrice Soullier and Vladimir Troyanovskiy, while Marcin Horecki and Konstantin Puchkov are the star attractions in Event #73, which is a draw event.

Today's novelty event (in addition to a deuces wild tournament) is Event 70, a €500 NL Turbo "High Hand Instant Win" tournament, in which there's a €500 bonus on offer every level to the player who wins at showdown with the highest hand.

I'm assuming there will be a few full houses scooping those prizes, but maybe we'll be seeing a couple of sets of quads and maybe the occasional straight flush. They are down to the last five players with €6,840 on offer to the winner.

We're keeping up with the side events action on the side events page and the results are on the side events results page.

If the Main Event is your thing, you can find that on the Main Event page or on EPT Live.
