FPS Deauville: Huge field returns for Day 2
The second day of this record-breaking event is about to get underway here at Casino Deauville. There are 658 players remaining from the 1,355 in the tournament - to put that into context, there were only 542 players from a field of 1,738 who returned for Day 2 of Eureka4 Prague in December.
There will be a total of 199 places being paid a minimum of €1,800 while first prize will net the winner of FPS Deauville a huge €197,000, there's a full list of the payouts here. If you're wanting to check out the chip counts, then they're available here while the seat draw for the tournament is available on the EPT app on both Android and IOS.
Several Team PokerStars Pros still involved in the tournament today in Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier (70,700), Julian Brecard (37,100) and Christophe De Meulder (23,800). Team PokerStars Pro Online is also represented in the form of Ronan Monfort (111,100) and Gabriel Nassif (17,300). They will all be chasing Jonathan Koskas, who begins the day as the chip leader with 321,600 - over six times the average stack. Other well-known players involved include former EPT winners Arnaud Mattern (104,600), Anton Wigg (74,000) and Salvatore Bonavena (12,000).
The length of the level is being increased from 45 to 60 minutes today and the plan for the day will be to play eight levels. Once the tournament gets close to the bubble, I will be switching to a more traditional tournament reporting style to make sure you get all the latest news.
