EPT9 Sanremo: Lauri Varonen leads the €990 PLO side event, bubble near

ept-thumb-promo.jpgEvery stop on the European Poker Tour is now a full blown poker festival of multiple events (we're talking 20+) with buy-ins ranging from €220 satellites and €330 turbos all the way up to the main event and €10,300 High Roller (live updates of which can be found here). One of the more niche events, albeit one that picked up 94 buy-ins, is Event #22: PLO €990. Ten spots pay out and with just two tables left from the 26 players which restarted at 3pm today, the bubble is closing fast. One player that is unlikely to fall before the money is Lauri Varonen who has 180,000, around 15% of the chips in play. Dermot Blain is still in and swinging trying to join Jason Tompkins in a double Irish knees up.
