Eureka3 Czech Republic: Short trip for Ognjen Sekularac, as final numbers confirmed

Registration has now officially closed here in Rozvadov and it appears that 298 players coughed up €1,000 (or its satellite path equivalent) to join the fray today. The number is always slightly confused by the inevitable handful of no-shows, ie, players who register in advance and then cannot actually take their seats, but the bean counters and number crunchers have just about now settled on 298.

Nine people never played, but their money is still in the pool.

A shameless attempt to lure players to Rozvadov

We can add this figure to the 123 from yesterday to get our final number: 421. That upset a few people here. The international dialling code for the Czech Republic is 420 and we were only one player away from having that neat number. Never mind.

Ever since registration closed, players have been flying out the door. Ognjen Sekularac was one of the very last people to register, just before the end of level four, but he was out almost immediately after he sat down. He had ace queen on a board of queen-queen-king. His opponent had pocket kings and I'm not sure there was any way he could have got away from that.

Sekularac will have to make do with the £68,780 he picked up at a side event at EPT London last week.

Other recent eliminations: Ibrahim Usta, Petr Šubík, Pascal Dominic Hartmann, Simeon Naydenov, Stefan Becker, Boris Fragin, Ivan Barczi, Liutauras Armanavičius, Julian Märgner, Sascha Vorwerk, Ljubomir Josipovič.

The chip-count page now displays the biggest stacks in the room and the up-to-date counts of some of the best known players.
