Eureka5 Prague: Boom meet thy neighbor, Bust

The double knockout that accounted for Riccardo D'Urso's stack

Even by the established standards of live poker tournaments, where a boom is always a close neighbor of a bust, the rapidity of eliminations here in Prague today has been unusual. From the 438 who started, only 180 remain, and the day's three most expensive levels are still to be played.

Just before we headed off to dinner, Riccardo D'Urso vaulted to the top of the counts with a double knock-out that earned him most of his 160,000 chips. But he has company at those lofty heights.

As far as I can tell, it's Anthony Picault with the outright lead at the moment. He has about 170,000 and so is peering down at all the rest.

Two players mentioned earlier: Ismael Bojang and Wing Sang Lee are snapping at that pair's heels: Bojang has around 158,000 and Lee about 150,000. Ukraine's Volodymyr Hancharyk also has about 150,000.

The plan for the rest of today is to play Levels 10, 11 and 12 and then call it a night, bagging up and preparing for another boatload of folk to ante up tomorrow.
