FPS Deauville: Let's get this party started

With 2015 still in its infancy, all eyes have turned to Deauville and the Gallic shores of Normandy for the first major poker event of the year on European soil. The Deauville festival runs from the 28th of January until the 7th of February when the latest European Poker tour champion will be crowned. There are 45 events scheduled to run over the next 11 days but the primary focus at first will be the FPS.

The tournament room will not be quiet for long...

Last year saw Dutchman Niels van Leeuwen of the Netherlands triumph over a mostly French final table to win a first prize of €175,000 beating a field of 1,095 while 2013 saw Patrick Braga defeat a field of 828 to win €165,000. The tournament staff are expecting similar numbers here this year and another massive prize pool.
