IPT Nova Gorica: Anything going on? You bet

IPT_thn.jpgIf something is good, you may as well repeat it. Scrub that; let's do it four times...

Good thing No. 1: This week sees the conclusion of the record-breaking PokerStars WCOOP series
Good thing No. 2: The PokerStars Latin American Poker Tour Grand Final is now under way in Rosario, Argentina
Good thing No. 3: The PokerStars France Poker Series sets up camp in Divonne tomorrow
Good thing No. 4: We're here in Nova Gorica for the latest stop of the PokerStars Italian Poker Tour

If we wanted to show off even more, we could add that the PokerStars EPT London kicks off next Wednesday. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.

So, back to Nova Gorica. Day 1A was played out yesterday and ended with Italian Alessandro Speranza as chip leader with 173,100 chips, followed by Tobias Huber, from Austria, with 123,800.

A field of 159 players from around the world played at the Perla Casino yesterday, including 30 who qualified online with PokerStars for much less than the required €2,200 buy-in. Of that lot, only 67 survived the day with an average stack is 47,491.

Day 1B will begin later today with another bumper field, including Team PokerStars Pros Luca Pagano, Dario Minieri, Salvatore Bonavena and Pierpaolo Fabretti, and Team PokerStars Online's Luca Moschitta and Giovanni Salvatore.

You can follow it all on our sister Italian blog, where you'll find resident arm-waving, fast-talking, Ferrari-driving, lanky-haired Italian blogger Matteo Viola describing the action. Only thing is, being Italian he does tend to write in Italian. No problem, folks - get on Google Translate and make some sense of it.
