PCA 2012: Jaka leads the main as high rollers take their seats

It's a bumper day at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure today with not one but TWO major events getting underway in the tournament room of Atlantis.

The first you'll be familiar with.

The Main Event reaches another crucial stage today (are there any non-crucial stages?) as the remaining 24 players play down to a final table of eight. Each of them is guaranteed $52,000; a significant chunk of change were it not for the $2,000,000 waiting for the winner tomorrow.

Atlantis in the sunshine

Also today we have the High Roller event, the $25,000 kind. It may not have the zeros or the superlative of the 'Super' High Roller that kicked off the PCA, but it will have quality nonetheless, with the great and the good, fed up with water slides and aware that there is rain forecast today, expected to play. That starts at 1pm with full coverage here on the Blog.

But first back to the Main Event.

The final 24 players are here, or will be shortly, with everyone under the TV lights today. Faraz Jaka leads with more than 4 million chips, some way ahead of his nearest rival Alex Fitzgerald with $2.7 million. Beyond them are some key figures in the game, the likes of which you'll be familiar with by the close if you weren't already.

So sit back, call in sick, send the kids to the movies and open something cold. It should be a good one.
