PCA 2012: Side events rocking

PCA-2010-thumbnail.jpgWhile the main event field shrinks, so action in the side events at Atlantis grows. We told you yesterday about some of the wacky variants being played out, including the Win the Button, a no-limit hold'em game where the player who wins the pot gets the button on the next hand. Such was the interest that 210 players signed up.

The tournament had to be switched to a two-day event to accommodate the huge field, and at the start of today's Day 2 it was Josh Bergman, who came 23rd in the main event last year, with the chip lead. In total, 36 players came back and 22 will be paid. The winner gets $58,060.

Meanwhile, the $2,000 No Limit event started today with 348 players signed up, including Team PokerStars Pros Liv Boeree , ElkY, Joe Cada, Jude Ainsworth, Victor Ramdin, Pat Pezzin, Ivan Demidov and Max Lykov.

Also under way today is the $5,000 PokerStars PLO Championship. Team PokerStars Pros Daniel Negreanu and Johnny Lodden are among the 67 players in that one.
