2014 PCA Main Event to guarantee $10 million prize pool
The 2014 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas will have a $10 million guaranteed prize pool.
Read that again. The 2014 PCA Main Event will guarantee a prize pool worth $10 million.
Okay, here's the thing: last year's PCA prize pool was big. It paid out more than $1.8 million to champion Dimitar Danchev and a total of $9,573,900. It was the fifth biggest PCA of all time. It was a fine event by almost any standard.
That said, PokerStars likes things big, and it just isn't going to be happy with a prize pool less than $10 million. So, it's guaranteeing that amount. It's a starting point. Who knows how big it will get.
If you're anything like most poker players we know, you want a piece of that $10 million. You're in luck. PokerStars is running satellites via the popular Mega Path for 10 Frequent Player Points and cash satellites starting for as little as $1.10.
If you're the type of person who likes to buy in directly, you're going to love this. The PokerStars VIP Store is offering discounted packages. What's more, if you want to buy in now, PokerStars is offering early bird discounts until October 20 that will get you a 50% discount on your hotel stay (up to eight nights) plus a seat into a live $1,100 Super Satellite tournament at the PCA 2014 for the chance to win a Main Event seat.
Need details on it all? Head on over to the 2014 PCA website for all you need to know about getting your seat to the $10 million Main Event.
See you at Atlantis.
