PCA 2013: Main event kicks off
Today we mark a milestone that some people might have thought impossible in the recent past. With the call of "Shuffle up and deal," the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure main event kicked off for the tenth consecutive year. From a cruise ship, to a small conference room, to a 50,000 square-foot ballroom, the PCA is now a decade-old festival like none other.
Over the past ten years, the PCA has turned amateurs into stars and stars into legends. At this hour, we begin the first of two Day 1 flights. Somewhere out across the vast expanse of garish carpet, there could be a $10 qualifier who will be a champion. Or perhaps, this will be another year in which a Team PokerStars Pro takes his spot among the heroes.
At this hour, it's impossible to say. Everybody has 30,000 in chips and the big blind is 100. That is to say, we're going to be here for a while. Another week in fact.
For now, here are your important links for the day:
We have reporters, photographers, and minions running in every direction right now. Keep your eyes peeled on the blog for everything you need to know about the tenth PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.
