PCA 2015: $25K High Roller slides into action today
Wandering about the Atlantis, there always seems to be something else to do. The choices of water slides alone seem to go on and on and on. Once you've taken the Leap of Faith, competed on the Challenger, plunged into the Abyss, rode the Surge, and slithered through the Serpent, there are still more slides and other river rides from which to choose.
It's not unlike the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure itself, with 35 different events ensuring there's always another tournament poker ride for players to take, with the $25,000 High Roller event kicking off today another highlight.
Yesterday we spoke with poker scribe and commentator Jesse May about how every event here at the PCA tends to be populated by the best tourney players in the world. Yesterday's side event results helped supported May's point well with victories by Paul Volpe in the $2,000 NLHE event and Justin Bonomo taking down the $5,000 PLO. (See all PCA side event results here.)
Today's High Roller rightly expects to attract a star-studded crowd as well. Last year the tournament drew 247 entries all told, building a better than $6 million prize pool of which winner Jake Schindler claimed the largest chunk by earning the $1,192,624 first prize.
Play will be eight-handed throughout this one, with today's Day 1 scheduled to go 10 one-hour levels and late registration extending until the start of Day 2. One re-entry is available as well to those willing to fire twice.
Ride along with us all day and night as we provide full coverage of today's High Roller event here on the PokerStars blog, with features below and live updates up top.
