PokerStars Festival Rozvadov: Keeping things in Czech
It seems like only yesterday we were struggling with our Czech while trying to order dinner in Prague, during our coverage of the last ever EPT back in December.
Well, just a few months later, we're now back in the Czech Republic for the third PokerStars Festival. The festivities, following on from the inaugural Festival in New Jersey and second event in London, are taking place at the ever-growing King's Casino in Rozvadov; a small village on the Czech border with Germany, which just so happens to be the home of Leon Tsoukernik's poker haven.
Over the next few days, we'll be here to witness the €500,000 guaranteed €1,100 buy-in PokerStars Festival Main Event. But that's not all; a total of 37 tournaments are on the schedule, meaning there's plenty of side event action too if you're contemplating a trip.
We'll be bringing you plenty of info of the side event winners throughout our coverage, including the €5,300 Kings High Roller, which kicked off yesterday. Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier was in the mix - but more on that later.
For now, let's focus on the Main Event. Today is Day 1A, and the action kicks off at 4pm local time. As always, we don't expect today's crowd to be the biggest we'll see (you'll have to wait for tomorrow's Day 1B and Saturday's Day 1C for those enormo-fields). But that doesn't mean we won't have some interesting play and exciting developments as the day goes on.
Oh, and if you do play one of the Day 1s and bust, your title chances aren't done and dusted just yet. There will be a turbo Day 1D taking place on Saturday night at 10pm, which is only available to players who busted 1A, 1B or 1C.
