$130,000 Asia Millions crests 70 players

With one week remaining until the $130,000 GuangDong Ltd Asia Millions (GDAM) at PokerStars LIVE at the City of Dreams Casino in Macau, organizers have announced that they already have seventy registrants.

Chew on that for a second.

In all the super high rollers in all the cities on all the tours in the world, you have never seen 70 people signed up for an event as large as a $130,000 buy-in. This one? This one has 70 people signed up with a week to go.

You can do the math. That's a prize pool of $9.1 million, and that's before anybody else signs up and before any...rebuys. Indeed, this event allows players to bust out and make up to two rebuys.

Word is in today that Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier has signed up to play. He'll be alongside Isaac Haxton, Celina Lin, and 2010 World Champion Jonathan Duhamel on Day 1.

"The Guangdong Group were confident that the GDAM tourney could be the first US $100,000 high rollers event to break the 100-player mark and we're well on pace to achieve that." said Danny McDonagh, PokerStars Director of Live Poker Operations in the Asia Pacific.

Organizers told us today that they've also added notables Shaun Deeb, Mike McDonald, David Steicke, Jeff Rossiter, and EPT Grand Final Super High Roller winner Max Altergott to the list of confirmed players.

The PokerStars Blog will have full coverage of the event beginning June 5.
