2015 ACOP Day 4: Time to shine for the final nine
Why have three events running simultaneously when you can have four?
That's the idea here at PokerStars LIVE Macau tonight.
The latest tournament to kick off was the Turbo Championship which attracted a field of 121 and generated a HK$308,063. They're into Level 12 at this point with nearly half the field already finding the exit.
The other new addition today as reported on earlier was the HK$500,000 Super High Roller. Some late entries include Vladimir Troyanovskiy, Erik Seidel and Sam Trickett. Of the 30 registrants so far only 27 remain, and at this point the rebuy count is at six.
The other two tournaments running in the poker room are both down to final tables now. The HK$15,000 NLH has only seven left in contention, including Team PokerStars Pro Randy 'nanonoko' Lew and Xuan Liu. They're chasing a HK$592,495 first-place prize tonight.
And back to our primary focus - the 2015 ACOP Main Event.
That too reached the final table mark when Patrick Mahoney moved all in with 3♥3♦ and ran into the J♥J♦ of Hsien Kui Yang. Mahoney needed to find a three to stay alive and avoid bubbling the final table but the 7♠5♦5♥Q♠T♦ runout wouldn't deliver. He collects HK$482,000 for his efforts here this week, and with that the final nine players began a 40-minute dinner break.
That break only just came to an end with players relocating to the final table stage set up across the tournament floor. Leading the way is American Connor Drinan who has 1,883,000 in chips to play with. Drinan started the day as chip leader and has done well to add over another million to his stack tonight.
Here's how the final table stack up.
