P1M Guarantee Main Event: Seats filling up at Day 1b
We are back at PokerStars Live Manila for day 1b of the P1M Guarantee Main Event at City of Dreams Manila, Philippines. This is a multiple re-entry tournament with late registration available until the end of the fourth hour. This is also the last day one flight. For those still deciding on whether to play, the draw for this tournament is not just the affordable buy-in of P5,500, it is also the enticing five seats guaranteed to the APPT 9 Manila Main Event awarded to the top five finishers. That's quite a steal seeing that the seats are worth P50,000 each.
With cards flying, quite a number of notables are already getting a head start. Players such as Byeongcheol Kim (South Korea), Kai Paulsen (Norway), Sandro Simon (Germany), as well as some players who didn't make the cut at day 1a, Nickolai Alexandrov (USA), John King (USA), Bede Connelly (Australia), Kristian Faering (Denmark), and Matthieu Flipo (France).
Among the local players there's Jav Medina, Bernie Angeles,Benjamin Lim, Richard Marquez, Wyngard Brillo, and Antonio Angeles.
A quick recap of day 1a, a total of 22 players out of 128 entries qualified into day 2. It was decided that the day will close at the end of level 14 and resume on Sunday for the final day. The chip leader was Luke Pangan from the Philippines with 205,500 chips.
