2pm: End of level
That's it for 15 minutes. The players are going on a break.

1.50pm: Coren keeps McLean clean
Coren limped the button picking up a call from Joeri Zandvliet in the small blind before Sean McLean checked in the big blind. All three players checked through to the 5♠J♦K♣5♣6♠ river at which point McLean bet a pot-sized 300. Coren called and was shown K♥2♠ for a cagily played two pair. -- RD

1.45pm: May stings Dunbar
The Voice of Poker, Jesse May, is playing here today in Edinburgh. I just saw him win a pot worth 1,875 against Robert Dunabr. Both playes checked the river of a 7♦3♦5♥6♥K♥ board with May's [10h][10c] pipping Dunbar's 9♦9♣. May currently has around 14,400. -- NW

1.35pm: Gill gives Stearn lesson
Tom Gill just won a nice pot off Alan Stearn. Four players including Stearn and Gill saw fourth street on a board of A♣6♣9♦5♥. Domininc Cugudda bet 525 and was flat called by Stearn, before Gill raised to 1,750. Jan Niclas Schwade folded as did Cugudda before Stearn made the call. Both players checked the [10c] river, Gill showing 7♣8♣ for a turned straight and rivered flush. "Why did I let you get there," said Stearn flashing the A♣, 'Get there?' said Gill, "I had the straight on the turn. -- NW

1.25pm: Hackman wins 7k pot with seven-high
We just caught up with Neil Hackman talking to his friend Jonathan Crute who called us over to earwig about a hand. At the end of the first blind level Hackman had raised from early position to 150 with 6♦7♦ and was three-bet by Mark Stobbs to 450. Hackman then four-bet to 1,100 and was called. On a [4][5][2] flop Hackman led out for 900 and was raised to 2,300. Hackman called that raise and check-called a further 2,800 on a [9] on the turn. On the [2] river Hackman made a small 1,200 bet and Stobbs called. Hackman then said: "I've got..." but before he could say anymore his opponent mucked his hand (so he tells us). Hackman then showed his 7♦6♦ to claim the pot. -- RD

1.20pm: Thew off to quiet start in main event
Team PokerStars pro Julian Thew has had a quiet start to today's event, 'Nothing to report,' he told me as I walked past. Thew did though cash in last nights £100 side event, finishing 7th for £400 for his first cash of the tour. 'I got it in good as well,' he added. --NW

1.10pm: Lody lightens Rowley
David Rowley, who final tabled UKIPT Kilalrney just played a curious pot against PJ Lody. On the J♣A♣3♠6♠ flop, Rowley (under the gun) bet 300 into a pot of 500 and was raised to 1,300 by Lody (button). Rowley made the call. The river was the 5♠, as Rowley was considering his action Lody bet 2,050 out of turn thinking Rowley had checked. Rowley now thought long and hard about what to do and eventually settled on a bet of 2,100. Lody made the call. Rowley announced 'one pair' Lody also had one pair A♠Q♥, Rowley mucked his cards. A few moments later Lody took down a pot worth about 3,500 with quads, holding pocket threes on a A♥9♥3♦3♠K♠ board. - NW

1.05pm: Not so rocky Stone
Karl Fenton opened the pot for 275 and was called in the hijack by Lawrence Stone and in the big blind by Kevin Wallace. Fenton c-bet 625 on the 7♣7♥3♠ flop picking up one caller in Stone. Both players checked through the 7♦ turn and 9♣ river with Fenton mucking to Stone's 3♣4♣. -- RD

12.50pm: Warris gets no action
In a four-way flop Asif Warris bet out 225 after seeing a 3♠A♦5♠ flop. None of his opponents, including Team PokerStars Pro JP Kelly, wanted to come along for the ride. Warries flashed a pair of threes for a flopped set. -- RD

12.45pm: 'You raised 350 with that'
Said Fintan Gavin at the end of the hand. The Irishman was not involved in the hand but on the river of a 5♥5♦K♥7♣2♥ the big blind - Ganapathy Samiappan - bet 1,200 and was looked up by the small blind Gregory Platt.

Samiappan: 4♦2♠
Platt: Q♣Q♥

'So you raised 350 with four-two did you,' said Gavin, 'Did you have me beat,' replied Samiappan, 'I had some of your outs,' said Gavin. -- NW

12.40pm: Coren defends with success
From the cut-off Malcolm McDougall raised to 200 and Vicky Coren called from the big blind. Both players checked the 2♥5♥9♥ flop. On the 6♣ turn Coren bet 200 saying, "You've got to have a go." McDougall folded A♦K♣ face up, Coren showed the 5♣ as she took the pot. -- NW

12.35pm: Cody and Lyall
They sound like they should be the stars of an American cop show but the only bullets they'll be seeing today are of the aces variety and they are sat across the felt from one another. Jake Cody should be known to most readers of this blog seeing as the young Brit was one of two players from the UK to win a EPT title last season (the other was Live Boeree who is also playing today). Dean Lyall is less likely to be on your radar unless you were at the UKIPT Manchester when Lyall celebrated making the Valentines Day final table by getting totally and utterly smashed, was given two penalties back to back and still somehow managed to finish in fifth for £12,100.

Just to let you know, folks, the internet is particularly slow today so please bear with us. -- RD

12.25pm: Another big hand early
I was wandering past Michelle Orpe's table when I saw a big hand in progress. Action had already reached the turn on a 8♠J♠7♥4♥ board and Grant Kinnear had checked to Jonas Jeschke. The latter bet 2,300 and was called by Kinnear. The pot was about 8,000 going to the river which fell 7♠, the pairing of the board slowed both players down and they both checked. Jeschke showed Q♠[10s] which had rivered Kinnear's K♣K♠. -- NW

12.20pm: Big hand early
On a [10d]A♣A♠ flop, Nicholas Farnborough checked to Sam Morris who bet 200, Farnborough check raised to 575 and was called by Morris. On the 3♥ turn Farnborough check-called a bet of 800 from Morris. The J♣ fell on the river and Farnborough led for 1,725 and was called by Morris who showed A♦K♣, Farnborough showed A♥Q♣. -- NW

12.15pm: Tasty tables
The random seat draw has thrown up a few tasty tables that we'll be keeping an eye on. Sat in a row on table four are UKIPT leaderboard leader Marius Lietuvninkas, Team PokerStars Pro Victoria Coren and UKIPT Manchester winner Joeri Zandvliet. Voice of poker Jesse May and Liv Boeree can get to know each other better as they're sat side by side on table 6. EPT Deauville winner Jake Cody is sharing a table with the entertaining Dean Lyall and Adam Latimer. -- NW

12.05pm: Play is underway
Cards are in the air and play has begun.
