UKIPT Series returns to PokerStars Live at the Hippodrome this weekend
Later this month the United Kingdom and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) will make its way to the Connaught Rooms in London for the Grand Final of its fourth season. It will bring to an end another fantastic season before it steps aside to allow the European Poker is to take centre stage
During those events the Hippodrome Casino in London's Leicester Square is the usual haunt for all the side action, a meeting place for the best of British and world poker as the festival plays on about six minutes' walk away. In fact, PokerStars Live at the Hippodrome is fast becoming the de-facto home of British poker, with a great environment to play, with stakes to suit everyone.
Never more so than during the UKIPT Series which returns for its sixth incarnation this weekend at the Hippodrome.
If you're not familiar with the Series allow us to bring you up to speed. You should start by considering it the little brother to the UKIPT, just as the UKIPT is like a younger cousin of the EPT, albeit an exotic one that spends most of its time overseas.
This weekend's Series will consist of three days of action, starting this Friday. The main feature, which follows the UKIPT Main Event structure albeit with 30-minute levels, has a buy in of £250+£25 with two starting days on Friday and Saturday, both commencing at 14:00 BST. Then, from noon on Sunday, it plays down to a winner.
That's not all.
While the main attraction rumbles on, Sunday will give players the opportunity to qualify for both the UKIPT and EPT Main Events, with satellites for each starting at 16:00 and 18:00 BST respectively. It's fair to say that qualifying for either of those sets you up for a shot at a quite memorable payday.
The UKIPT Series event gives players on a smaller bankroll a great chance to take part in some great competition. Just ask Team PokerStars Pro Jake Cody. He won the first one ever held in April 2013, and will be in London this weekend trying to win a second. It's a chance for players, who dream of one day competing for UKIPT or even EPT glory, to test themselves in a great home of poker.
Fancy taking a seat next to Jake (we suggest his left)? Then check out all the details of this weekend's UKIPT Series on the PokerStars Live website, where you'll find details of events and of the Hippodrome Casino itself. You can also find satellites already running on PokerStars under UKIPT and PS Live.
