2008 World Series: Griffin, McEvoy pick up some seed cash

The 2008 World Series has only been underway for a few days and already some PokerStars players are picking up some cash.

Gavin Griffin navigated a field of 4,000 players to finish 251st for a $3,754 cash--not life-changing money for the Team PokerStars Pro, but enough money to pay for a couple smaller buy-ins over the next few of weeks.

Also, we mentioned the Hirleman family in a post yesterday. The three siblings were all competing in Event #2 and made Day 2 together. Dan Hirleman finished in 315th place for $3,217. Sister, Emily, cashed for $3,754 for a 248th place finish.

Tom McEvoy, one of the original members of Team PokerStars Pro, did not fare as well in the first couple of events at the World Series, but is finding more success in Event #3. He's in the money in the $1,500 Pot-Limit Hold'em and looking to make some money today in Day 2.

Congratulations to all of them for their efforts and cashes so far.
