2008 World Series: Raymer, Chen, Lind drawing for final table
Of all the names we have mentioned here over the past several weeks, one name has been unfortunately absent. 2004 World Series Champion Greg Raymer has not seen variance swing in his favor so far. That could change today.
With 30 players remaining in the $2,500 2-7 Triple Draw event, Raymer sits fourth in chips and looking to make a run for the final table.
Joining Raymer in Day 2 of the event are Team PokerStars Pro Bill Chen and 2008's first Supernova Elite, George Lind III. Twenty-four players will make the money. Play will continue tonight until they reach the final table.
In other news, congratulations to Team PokerStars Pro Barry Greenstein for yet another cash in this year's World Series. Greenstein placed 108 out of more than 2,700 players in one of the $1,500 NL Hold'em events. Humberto Brenes also picked up a money-finish in the same event.
Congratulations to Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Rousso for cashing in the $2,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em event, and PokerStars German Blog founder Jan von Halle for placing fourth in the same event.
Finally, after watching the Series from a distance for a few weeks, we here at the PokerStars Blog are pulling up stakes and headed into the fray. Stephen Bartley, Howard Swains, and I will begin full coverage from Vegas beginning Wednesday with the $50,000 HORSE event.
We'll see you all at the Rio.
