WSOP Event #14: Barry Shulman busts in fifth

wsop2009_thn.gifBarry Shulman was all in pre-flop and found two callers in Daniel Negreanu and Brock Parker: a chance for a triple up or two chances to be busted from the final table of this $2,500 Six-handed Limit event.

Shulman had raised for his last chips, Team PokerStars Pro Negreanu - looking for his fifth bracelet - called, as did Parker. But on the J♠2♠2♦ flop, Brock bet, making Negreanu get out of the way, and Brock and Shulman turned over.

Shulman: Q♣[10c]
Brock: 4♣4♠

The turn was was 7♣ and the river A♣ sending Shulman to the rail with $43,201 for his efforts.

Daniel Negreanu

With blinds now up to 10,000-20,000, the field is flattening and any bettting action is proving expensive - meaning this final table may not have long legs.

Latest chip counts:

Tommi Horkko, 760,000
Kevin Hong, 707,000
Daniel Negreanu, Team PokerStars Pro, 677,000
Brock Parker, 600,000

There's been no luck todat for the Team PokerStars Pros who remained in the $5,000 No Limit event. Vanessa Rousso, Victor Ramdin and Gavin Griffin have all bitten the dust short of the money.
