WSOP Event #33: Chad Brown close to final table
There's something a little different happening in the Rio Amazon room today - the PokerStars.net-sponsored NHL Charity Shootout featuring some of the biggest names in the game, Team PokerStars Pros and some of our own very lucky qualifiers. We'll bring you more of this glittering event a little later, but for now it's business as usual at the WSOP as Team Pro Chad Brown is close to clinching yet another final table for the team.
It's day three of the $10,000 World Championhip Limit Hold'em, with just 12 remaining and Brown sits on top of a healthy pile of 545,000 chips, good enough to be in the top five right now.
This event attracted the game's big guns, and joining Brown on the last two tables, now getting under way, are the likes of Matt Hawrilenko, Greg Mueller, Daniel Alaei and Jennifer Harman.
Each of them are already guaranteed $41,040 for getting this far, but the $460,836 first prize - and WSOP bracelet - is the one they're all after.
Brown has one cash to his name so far this series, finishing 14th in the $2,500 Omaha/7-card Stud Hi-Low for $10,481 last week. I'm sure there's is now domestic competition going on here, but his partner Vanessa Rousso has three cashes to her name. Just thought I'd mention that!
Other Team Pros came close to cashing in this event, with Barry Greenstein and Noah Boeken falling short, the latter being close to his third cash out of three events played.
