WSOP 2015: De Melo, the leading lady

There has never been any doubt Fatima Moreira de Melo is a leader. From her field hockey championships to her rise through the poker world, the one-time Olympian knows how to lead. What she has not done, yet, however, is cash in the $10,000 WSOP Main Event.

Today, De Melo looks good to change that.

De Melo's 160,400 chips (spun up on Day 2 from a mere 6,000) made her the biggest-stacked woman in the Rio. Since then, she's added another 220,000 to her stack and, unless disaster strikes, is likely to make it to the money tonight.

While De Melo can take a lot of credit for becoming a solid poker player, she refuses to take all of it. As she's built her overall winnings to more than $300,000, she's had help from two important men in her life.

In the video below, De Melo, Jason Mercier, and Jake Cody all talk about the heroes who have helped make them who they are.
