Another break, another broken table and a new chip leader.

Day 1C’s field of 139 entrants has now been reduced to just 28 players. Leading those players — for the moment — is K.C. Wong from Hong Kong.

Wong has been flirting with the six-figure chip mark and went to break with 98,000. While this stack is larger than some Day 2 stacks, it doesn’t guarantee him a spot. The rapid blinds are relentless and have been the downfall of many a chipleader during the past few days.

But Wong is familiar with play here in Macau. Since 2013, Wong has cashed in PokerStars LIVE events eight times, accumulating more than HKD $300,000. Wong’s largest cash happened in this year’s Red Dragon, but he’s still in the hunt for his first major victory.

Day 1A survivor Iori Yogo is still in the running to be a Day 1C survivor. Yogo made Day 2 as the short stack with only 40,000 and rode another short stack — but eventually busted — for hours on Day 1B.

Now things have turned around. Yogo is now far from a short stack and is up to 67,000, well above average.

Yogo is hoping to be the first player to qualify twice in this event, but he’s got some competition. Alex Chieng, who also survived Day 1A, is still in the field and is sitting with 41,600.

Aside from the ‘double-qualifier,’ there’s another Macau Millions first title up for grabs. Lacey Jones is the last woman standing and is looking to be the first woman to make it to Day 2 this event.

Jones got down to starting stack but has been on an upswing. In her most recent double up, Jones was all-in with A♦ 9♦ against jack-ten.

The flop was a low 4♣ 6♣ 2♦ but then Jones hit a 9♠ on the turn. A 3♠ sealed the deal for Jones and she doubled up to about 40,000.
