If you have ever thought about going to the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, this is the year to book your ticket. If you have ever thought about trying to qualify for the PCA Main Event, this is your time.

Today, PokerStars announced it will be hosting the biggest poker festival in its 14-year history. When the annual beach reunion of PokerStars’ loyal players kicks off on January 6, it will feature a schedule with 104 events.

You read that right. There will be 104 different poker tournaments between January 6 and January 14, and they will all be at Paradise Island’s Atlantis.

Lower Main Event buy-in on 104-event schedule

Of all the things that will make your eyebrows shoot up, this is is probably the biggest: this year, the PCA Main Event will have a $5,300 buy-in. While the Main has boasted a $10,000 buy-in for many years, this move puts the PCA festival right in line with its European Poker Tour partner fesitvals.

So, you people who had set aside $10,000 might be asking, “What could I possibly do with the rest of this buy-in money‽”

Well, you will have choices. In fact, you will have 104 of them.

Last year at the PCA, there were 35 events. This year, you’re going to see 104 tournaments, including a $2,200 LAPT Main Event, $100,000 Super High Roller, a $50,000 High Roller, and $25k High Roller.

Variety in paradise: Bring a friend!

Even if you don’t fit the High Roller category, there will be buy-ins and cash games to suit everyone at the festival.

“We have seen extraordinary growth in our live events in Europe and we’re excited about emulating this success at the PCA,” said Edgar Stuchly, Director of PokerStars Live Events. “EPT Barcelona, which is running right now, is breaking records on a daily basis and our aim is to give PCA players the same kind of experience.”

You won’t be wanting for variety. The 2016 PCA schedule include Win the Button and Deuces Wild, H.O.S.E., PLO, and bounty tournaments.

What’s more, the popular “Refer a Friend” promotion will return in 2016. If players refer a friend who hasn’t played the PCA in the last two years – and both the referrer and their friend play the Main Event – the referrer will receive $500 for each friend they introduce.

How to qualify

Oh, you’d like to go on this trip for next to nothing? Well, that you can do. Beginning in September, PokerStars will be running hundreds of satellites for your chance to get to the Bahamas for as little as $1.10. Need a PokerStars account to start working on your trip? Click here to get one.

“People come from all over the world to compete in the Bahamas and enjoy the Caribbean climate, in the middle of winter for the Northern Hemisphere,” Stuchly said. “However, what our players really relish is the chance to play lots of poker. So this coming January, that’s exactly what we’ll be offering!”
