While the epic Stadium Series currently dominates PokerStars headlines, the prestigious Sunday Million refuses to go unnoticed. Here are five things you might have missed from the latest edition.

We saw another busy Sunday on PokerStars this past week. The Stadium Series is really starting to heat up, but that doesn’t mean players were going to overlook the chance to become a Sunday Million champ.
The July 12 edition ended up getting 10,245 total entries (7,285 unique, 2,960 re-entries), creating a $1,024,500 prize pool. It wasn’t the busiest Milly ever recorded, but the $1M guarantee was still surpassed.
After six hours and 21 minutes of play on Monday’s Day 2, it was Bulgaria’s “justcrucial” who finished with all of the chips and had $106,994 added to their bankroll.
They defeated Hungary’s “lajoska001” heads-up ($76,923) with no deal made.

Former SCOOP champ finishes third
Rounding out the podium finishers was the UK’s “7tHEcROw7”, a name that seemed familiar. After some research, we found out why.
“7tHEcROw7” took down a title in the 2012 Spring Championship of Online Poker, banking a whopping $298,200 for victory in a $2,100 6-Max event.
After battling through 888 other players in that event, “7tHEcROw7” would find themselves heads-up against the formidable Mike “SirWatts” Watson (Watson would win $220,290 for second place).

“7tHEcROw7” has continued to put up good results at the mid-to-high stakes ever since (a runner-up finish in the $530 Bounty Builder High Roller for $26K plus bounties in 2019 being one example).
They won $55,308 for their Sunday Million third place.
Lex Veldhuis streams deep run over two days
While Fintan “easywithaces” Hand (1,479th – $180) and Nick “OP-Poker Nick” Walsh (587th – $315) both cashed this event, it was none other than Lex Veldhuis who repped the red spade the hardest.
Streaming the Sunday Million alongside his sixth-place finish in a $1K Stadium Series, Lex would make Day 2 ensuring his loyal community would be back in their seats watching the action the following night.

There were only 98 players remaining when play resumed, but alas, this event wasn’t to be.
Down to 12 big blinds, Lex open-jammed with A♦ 5♦ from the hijack and was called by the bigger stack in the big blind who held 10♠ A♣ .
The 4♦ 9♦ K♠ flop looked very promising, but that potential was squandered by the Q♠ turn and A♥ river.
Lex fell in 72nd place for $1,055.

Former champ becomes bubble boy
The $1,024,500 prize pool was split between the top 1,826 players. But who finished 1,827th?
This week the honour of bubble boy would go to none other than Brazilian grinder “ezynow99”, whose bankroll just missed out on the $180 min-cash.
We’re sure “ezynow99” will recover though.
After all, they are a former Sunday Million champion, having won this event in 2017 for $144,913, defeating 5,777 runners and a final table which included Ole “wizowizo” Schemion and Johan “busto_soon” Van Til.
