7:10pm: Break time
The remaining players are heading on a 10-minute break.

Make sure to join us in a new blog once play resumes.

7:00pm: PLO Championship underway
The third event of the day has just kicked off with the HK$15,000 PLO Championship now underway.

Currently there are eight tables in use, and with 120-minutes of late registration available, that number is expected to grow as the Warm-Up also continues to lose players.

6:55pm: Guzzardi finds a fold
Following a raise to 3,700 and a call by Minh Nguyen, Michael Guzzardi three-bet the cutoff to 9,500.

The blinds folded, but the original raiser slid out a four-bet totaling 15,700 to force Nguyen’s cards into the muck.

Guzzardi contemplated his options for a few minutes before finding a fold and slipping to 40,000 in the process.

6:50pm: Chio slipping
Tom Chio opened to 4,000 only to have an opponent in late position three-bet to 10,000. Chio made the call before check-calling 11,000 on the 8♦ A♣ K♣ flop before both players checked the 8♥ on the turn.

Chio would then take the lead by betting 12,000 when the river landed the 6â™  , but his opponent quickly snapped him off tabling A♥ 5â™  to best Chio’s J♥ 10♥ .

The start-of-day chip leader is now down to 120,000 in chips.

6:40pm: Down to eight tables
The PokerStars Live staff have just broken another table to leave us with a final eight tables and 72 players remaining.

The aim of making the money tonight seem even more likely with only a further 24 eliminations needed in a little more than three levels of playing time.

6:35pm: Crivell climbing
Facing a raise to 3,800, Patrick Crivell three-bet to 14,100 only to have his opponent shove all in for what appeared to be around 40,000. Crivell called and the cards were placed on their backs.

Crivell: A♠ K♣
Opponent: 8-8

The board ran out 3♥ 6♣ J♦ A♥ 3♦ to see Crivell spike the turn and eliminate his opponent while moving to 165,000 in chips.

6:20pm: When you’re hot, you’re hot!
“When you’re hot, you’re hot!” stated Johnny Chan as Tom Alner was pushed a huge pot.

The action started with Alner opening with a raise under-the-gun only to have Sparrow Cheung three-bet to 9,000 from late position. Once the action returned to Alner, he moved all-in and Cheung instantly called for his last 55,000.

Cheung: K♦ K♣
Alner: 9♦ 9♣

With Cheung in great shape, the Q♠ 10♣ 9♥ flop would be a devastating one for him as it gave Alner his two-outer. Needing a two-outer of his own or one of four jacks for a straight, the 10♦ on the turn would leave Cheung chasing just the two remaining kings.

Unfortunately for Cheung, the river landed the J♣ giving him a worthless straight as Alner was pushed the pot to move to a massive 295,000 in chips.

6:15pm: Ladies event underway
The HK$8,800 Ladies Asia Championship is now underway with two tables in play.

6:10pm: Level up, blinds 900/1,800, ante 200

6:05pm: Edison out
Edison Nguyen opened to 3,000 only to have one player move all in for roughly 25,000. With the action on the button player, he moved all in for close to 40,000 before Nguyen opted to call off his 30,100-chip stack.

Nguyen: Q♦ Q♣
Opponent: 8♥ 8♦
Button: A♥ K♣

The A♦ 9â™  3♦ 5♥ J♣ board would see the button eliminate both the unknown player and Nguyen. Nguyen’s brother Minh however is still in the tournament and is sitting with an above average stack.

6:00pm: More eliminations
Karib Karib, Mervin Chan and Hung-Sheng Lin have all been recently eliminated from the tournament.

5:50pm: Zhi eliminated by Yogo
Following a raise to 3,500, Iori Yogo made the call from the cutoff before Zhi Hong Ma moved all in for 17,200 from the small blind. The original raiser folded, and after some deliberation, Yogo made the call.

Yogo: A♥ J♦
Ma: 7♠ 7♦

The board ran out 10♠ J♣ 10♥ 6♦ 9♣ to see Yogo spike a bigger pair to send the Australian to the rail. Yogo is now flirting with 200,000 as he sits just a few blinds below that.

5:40pm: Saehoon takes lead
In a blind-on-blind battle, Saehoon Lee has just taken the chip leader after calling the big blind’s all-in.

Lee: A♦ 10♥
Opponent: 10♣ 10♠

The board ran out A♣ 7♥ K♥ 2♦ 3♠ to see Lee capture the pot and move to 205,000.

Also on his table is Wei Hsiang Yeu who has roughly 180,000 in chips.

5:30pm: Yogo now top dog
ANZ Player of the Year Iori Yogo is now the chip leader with 185,000.

5:25pm: Lin loses race
PokerStars Team Asia Pro Celina Lin has just been sent to the rail.

Lin found herself all in holding 4-4 and was called by an opponent’s A-K. There would be no ace or king on the board, but a runner-runner Broadway straight would end Lin’s tournament.

5:20pm: Pignatelli exits
Following a raise to 2,600 from Jonathan Depa, Ryan Pignatelli three-bet to 6,100. Depa came back over the top with an all in and Pignatelli called off his remaining 30,000.

Depa: A♦ J♣
Pignatelli: 10♠ 10♦

Unfortunately for the Canadian PokerStars Qualifier, the board would run out A♣ 5♠ 4♣ 6♠ 7♥ to end his tournament.

5:15pm: Chio still leads
A quick walk around the room sees Tom Chio still the overwhelming chip leader with 180,000.

Many players are above the 100,000-chip mark but have nothing that is challenging Chio at this stage.

5:10pm: Play resumes
The cards are now back in the air with 102 players remaining in the tournament.
