Dear Randy,

We understand you just busted out of the Main Event, the result of a three-way cooler in which your pocket queens were third best pre-flop. That’s gotta sting.

Chin up, buddy.

We know life seems pretty unfair these days. Over the past few weeks, you’ve been within sniffing distance of a Platinum Pass (I know, they smell glorious!) but not managed to pick one up. It’s a hard knock life for a serious guy who was recently on a live broadcast wearing mittens. We feel for you.

But things are looking up. The oddsmakers back at BetStars have just improved your odds of winning a Platinum Pass to 16/1. Outside of Igor Kurganov (I mean, what has that guy done, amirite?) sitting at 14/1, you have been dubbed the PokerStars Ambassador picked as the next most likely to get one.

But I’ll admit, buddy, these odds have taken me right out of the betting pool. Thing is, I’ve been watching you, kid. You play pretty well, but I’ve known people like you before. Lucky in love, capable at cards, pretty poor in Platinum Pass procurement. If I’ve seen it once, I’ve seen it a million times.

Is this the face of a man who is going to win a Platinum Pass?

The sick part about all of this is that you’ve got a wedding to pay for. And you’re a nice guy. And fate keeps pushing you closer and closer to those sweet, sweet Platinum Passes. And now Betstars is trolling you with this line. It’s unconscionable.

I won’t stand for it. In fact, I’m going to encourage the betting folks I know to put their money somewhere it’s got an actual chance of teaching BetStars a lesson.

Anyone wanting to get down on a great line, BetStars has Kalidou Sow at 500/1 right now. Pounce on that one while you still can. And if you doubt my handicapping, note this: I’ve never lost a PSPC bet.

And Randy, if you ever feel like you need to talk, I’m here. I lost a set of car keys once, so I know what loss feels like.

Your friend,
Brad
