The end is near.

This week we’ve seen chip molehills turn to mountains for the final seven.

They’re making their way into PokerStars LIVE Macau momentarily for the conclusion of what has been an exhilarating four days of tournament poker.

The final seven players take their seats
They’ll all be gunning for the same thing today. The first prize payout of HK$2,525,000 (US$325,667) and the prestigious APPT Main Event title.

It’s been a tumultuous ride for the remaining seven players this week. With 493 in the field, outlasting to the final table has been no mean feat.

Play will begin at 2pm local time with blinds set at 15,000/30,000 and a 5,000 chip ante.

That’s a fact our current shortstack won’t be too fond of hearing. Filipino Florencio Campomanes starts today with only 249,000 and only time will tell if he’ll be looking to make a move early and go for gold, or tighten up and try to jump up the pay ladder.

It may seem like a case of Déjà vu for China’s Zhenru Xie after another final table here last November in the Macau Poker Cup Red Dragon Event. He went on to win that title and he’ll be looking to do the same again here tonight. Xie starts the day third in chips with 1,840,000.

He’ll have to dispose of the chip leader first, however, with Hong Kong’s Yat Wei Cheng sitting atop the chip count. The previous Asia Championship of Poker final tablist bagged up 2,833,000 at the conclusion of play yesterday and will be the one to chase here today.
