A couple of tables down, the Team PokerStars Pro Barry Greenstein is very active, raising a lot pots and taking most down, he raised pre-flop then fired bets of 1,000 and 3,000 on the flop and turn of a Q♦ J♠ 7♣ 6♥ board to push fellow Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Rousso off a hand and a few hands later called a 1,000 river bet against Roberto Romanello on an 2♥ 7♦ 2♠ K♦ A♦ board chopping with A♥ 6♥ against the Welshman’s A♣ 5♣ .
With the blinds at 150/300 with a 25 ante, Liv Boeree, who managed to qualify in a live satellite last night, makes a raise to 800 on PokerStars ShootingStar Florian Langmann’s big blind. Langmann, the early chip leader today, promptly makes it 2,600 to go. Boeree looks a little miffed, asking, “Why are you always re-raising me?”
“Because I have the best hand,” said the German smiling. Boeree then thinks before making it 8,000 to play and now it’s Langmann’s turn to ask:
“Why are you always re-raising me?” which prompts laughter from the table. Langmann decides to fold to the four-bet, but stilll looks to be amongst the chip leaders at the moment.
Finally, Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu has been knocked out of the event. Most of the damage came when he doubled up Gus Hansen. They had seen a T-3-2 board where Hansen bet out 2,500, the player in seat 1 raised to 8,000 and Negreanu just cold-called this bet leading the action back to the Dane. Hansen went so deep into the tank that we weren’t exactly sure he could actually get back out again, but eventually he moved all-in and seat 1 folded.
Negreanu was a little perplexed, stating that it had taken so long to push that he was slightly confused about the hand and now made the call with A-T. Hansen flipped over queens which held on blank turns and river. The real discussion was about why Hansen had taken a long time to shove when Ivey chipped in, “He thought you had a set.”
In any event Negreanu was left with just 2,000 which meant he was eliminated shorlty after leaving us with 72 of the original 79 players remaining.
