9.20pm: Play end as Pidun pushed out in 9th (€45,000)
Poor old Daniel Pidun. Picking up pocket queens at this point is a dream come true, but not when your opponent has pocket aces.

Pidun held QQ to Armin Mette’s AA and there was never any doubt that it was going in pre-flop. The flop wasn’t a kind one, coming as it did 235 giving Pidun just one clean out; a non-heart queen. Ironically enough it was the Q that hit the turn, which led to tournament director Thomas Kremser making an unusual mistake claiming that he was still drawing to one out. Swiftly corrected, Kremser announced that Pidun needed the board to pair. It didn’t.

Players are bagging their chips for the night and we’ll have a full wrap and chip counts coming to you shortly. — RD

9.10pm: Quiet resumption
Little to report since the restart. Darren Kramer just opened a pot for 145,000 which was raised to 325,000 by Ben Wilinofsky in the cut-off. Kramer the raised to 685,000 forcing Wilinofsky to fold. – SB

8.50pm: Mariano out in 10th (€45,000)
We are down to nine players after a swift knockout of Cuello Jorge Mariano at the hands of Maximilian Heinzelmann. It all went in pre-flop with Mariano holding KQ and Heinzelmann AJ. The flop ran out [j][9][8][4][9] to send Mariano to the rail in 10th position.

8.40pm: Dinner over
Play is set to restart.

7pm: Fabrice Soulier out in 11th place (€36,000)
As the dinner break is called a big pot develops that will send one more player to the rail.
Maximilian Heinzelmann opened for 100,000 on the button which was called by Vadzim Kursevich in the small blind and Fabrice Soulier in the big. The flop came 23K which was checked through to Heinzelmann who bet 145,000. Kursevich called before Soulier tank-raised, 375,000 in total.

Heinzelmann asked how much it was – 280,000 to call – then called. At which point Kursevich moved all-in, easily covering Soulier, who called, showing 54 for a bag full of outs. Kursevich showed AK.

Soulier needed an ace, six or a heart but none came on the Q turn or the 3 river. The Frenchman busts in 11th place, earning €36,000. – SB

Seat 1. Martin Jacobson
Seat 2. Maximilian Heinzelmann
Seat 3. Vadzim Kursevich
Seat 4. Fabrice Soulier
Seat 5. Cuello Jorge Mariano

We’ve had a split pot between Heinzelmann and Kursevich and a couple of small pots for Jacobson who has scooped the blinds twice and had a walk once. Add all that up and you’ll find it’s about 300,000 for the Swede. — RD

6.30pm: Double up? Joep
Joep van den Bijgaart just doubled up, moving in with 88 and getting a call from Ben Wilinofsky who showed AQ.

The Team PokerStars Pro was out of his chair preparing for the worst, but was soon at ease as the flop landed on Wilinofsky’s head: 388. For those keeping score at home the turn card was a 2, the river 4. Van Den Bijgaart back up to more than 1,000,000. – SB

6.20pm: Kristijonas Andrulis eliminated in 12th place (€36,000)
Kristijonas Andrulis, the last remaining Lithuanian player, has been eliminated in 12th place after Martin Jacobson rivered him. Andrulis open shoved for over 750,000 and the PokerStars qualifier re-shipped from the next seat for around 900,000. The two players in the blinds folded to leave it heads-up.

Andrulis: 33

5.49pm: Heinzelmann gets two streets of value against Mariano
Cuello Jorge Mariano flat called an 81,000 under-the-gun raise from Maximilian Heinzelmann whilst in position. Both checked the flop before Heinzelmann led for 86,000 with the board reading 25310. The Spaniard called and also called a 151,000 bet on the 6 river. The German tabled A10 and took the pot as Mariano folded. — MC

5.38pm: Mariano rips a quarter-million from Soulier
Cuello Jorge Mariano just three-bet Fabrice Soulier to 250,000 and fired a 1099 flop to win a 560,000 pot from the Frenchman. Soulier – after a long, long stare down – passed to leave himself with 900,000. Mariano up to 2,500,000. The Spaniard is starting to turn the screw here. — RD

5.28pm: Mug’s game
That’s the Grand National watched and done with (get it quietly Stoddart), now back to work. — SB

5.15pm: Traboulsi out in 14th (€28,000)
Thomas Traboulsi’s luck has finally come to an end after shoving A8 into Cuello Jorge Mariano’s pocket nines. Mariano had opened for 80,000 from the button and Traboulsi shoved for 350,000.

The 93J flop gave the Spaniard a set and left Traboulsi drawing to backdoor outs. One of those appeared with 8 and but the river bricked with the K. We have 13 players left. — RD

5.05pm: Luis Jaikel eliminated in 15th place (€23,000)
Three hours later than some people expected Luis Jaikel departs in 15th. He moved all-in for around 450,000. Martin Jacobson also shoved for about 575,000, taking the hand to showdown, where the Costa Rican turned over A10 to Jacobson’s 99.

“I folded one ace and one nine.” Said Thomas Traboulsi.

The board came 4Q5K6. The turn gave Jaikel outs but nothing that would help on the river. He’s out. Jacobson up to more than 1,000,000 chips. – SB

5pm: Hakim eliminated in 16th place (€23,000)
Action from the TV table with Armin Mette taking out Jeffrey Hakim in a battle of the blinds. The chips went in pre-flop with Hakim holding QJ to his opponent’s pocket jacks. There was no three-outer for the American through the 3A6A6 board. — MC

4.40pm: Two tables

Seat 8 – Thomas Traboulsi

4.35pm: Puchkov departs in 17th (€20,000)
Konstantin Puchkov was down to 400,000 chips when he moved all-in but his timing was unluckily off, as Jonas Gutteck woke up with a monster behind and moved all-in behind.

Puchkov: 88
Gutteck: AA

The board ran 5A4J2 to make top set for the German who’s now up to around 1,300,000 chips. — MB

4.25pm: Play resumes
The last 17 players have taken their seats and with Ben Wilinofsky way out in front with 6,000,000, twice that of Maximilian Heinzelmann in second place, it’s looking like the Canadian may be the favourite going into the final table. There’s still plenty of time for all that to change though. Game on. — RD
