Focus on innovation and fun to create spectacular 40-event schedule.

The European Poker Tour today announced a spectacular 40-event tournament schedule for the forthcoming Vienna stop, featuring more innovative and fun game variants than any other event so far in Season 10.

The EPT is heading back to the Austrian capital for the first time since Season 7 with a full festival of poker running from March 19-29, 2014. The event will take place at the former Imperial residence – the stunning Hofburg Palace – which is Vienna’s architectural masterpiece and Austria’s most popular tourist attraction.

The regional Eureka Poker Tour will kick off proceedings on March 19, with the EPT picking up the baton from March 23-29 to create an amazing 11 days of world-class poker action. The EPT Vienna Festival will be operated in partnership with the Concord Card Casino group, which operates 15 poker rooms in Europe and has more than 20 years of experience.

“The EPT is all about fun, celebrating the excitement of the game and gathering players together for a good time, and we really wanted to make a splash on our return to Vienna. The EPT is known for game innovation, variety and we pride ourselves on providing game types in tournament format that you simply don’t find at other live events,” said Neil Johnson, Head of Live Poker Operations for the EPT.

Mixed Game and Omaha players will be excited to see a host of new events to whet their appetites including a €1,500 Limit 7 Card Stud Championship, €200 Limit Omaha High/Low Double Board and a €1,000 PLO Reverse Mix Max. No Limit Hold’em lovers will also be spoilt for choice with new game types including the €100 Deuces Wild and €100 NLHE – Always 20 Big Blinds events, plus a €2,000 EPT Grand Final Hybrid tournament offering 50% in prize money and 50% in seats to the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT Grand Final in Monaco at the end of April. In addition to the €1,000 Eureka and €5,000 EPT Main Events, and €10,000 EPT High Roller. There will also be a wide selection of Turbo and Deepstack tournaments starting from as little as €100.

Innovation for qualifiers
Players who qualify for an EPT Vienna Main Event full package on PokerStars will, for the first time, be offered the opportunity to opt out of the hotel portion of the package. Players will have seven days from the date they win their seat to opt out, and their PokerStars account will be credited with the full value hotel cost – giving players greater choice than ever before.

EPT Vienna satellites are running daily from as little as €1.10 or 50 FPPs. To view the full schedule, and for more details on qualifier tournaments, visit:
