Home / Uncategorized / EPT Copenhagen: As flies to wanton boys

The Norwegian player Tore Lagerborg is out, with all his chips going to Denmark and the returning EPT Copenhagen final table player Rasmus Nielsen. They got it all in pre-flop after a raise, a re-raise, a re-re-re-raise and an all in re-re-re-re-raise, which was followed by a call. It was queens for Lagerbord, A-K for Nielsen, and the ace flopped to end this one. The pot was close to 400,000 and Nielsen has now assumed the chip lead.

In other news — and it’s coming thick and fast — the Finnish player Mika Puro is also out. Puro, who has a fine EPT pedigree dating back to a final table on season one, had [10S]-[KH] and flopped top pair on a board of [3D]-[6C]-[KS]. His only opponent was Fredrik Boberg, who called a flop bet, then all the money flew in on the turn of 3h. Boberg had been lying in wait with the might [4S]-[3S] and made his trips. Puro was pulped.

Remy Biechel has also hit the rail. The returning tournament short stack found ace-queen, which is well within his shoving range. He duly pushed over an early position standard raise, Ramzi Jelassi re-shoved from the small blind, the initial raiser got out the way, and Jelassi was sitting with 9-9. The board was dry and Jelassi took it at the expense of the lone remaining Frenchman.
