No Deauville winner has been more dramatic than Jake Cody (although the plastic rat-shaking histrionics of Lucien Cohen perhaps come close). The young Brit was an unknown quality when he arrived in France three seasons ago; just another is-he-emo-or-isn’t-he online grinder. We all learnt in that tournament that Cody could play and as the months rolled on we discovered that he could really play, bagging poker’s Triple Crown in record time. All that led to this year’s PCA where Cody was unveiled as the newest member of Team PokerStars Pro.
