The heady pace has continued. Into the second level of the day more than 30 players have been eliminated. And where elimination does not occur major damage does instead, just ask Gunnar Rabe. He just lost a pot measuring in the tens of thousands to fellow PokerStars qualifier Tim Witte, his top pair beaten by Witte’s two pair on the flop. At least the draw was considerate of Rabe, moving Wiite to another table shortly after.

Vicky Coren

Not before Team PokerStars Pro Vicky Coren moved all-in, getting no takers. This was a prelude to hand a few minutes later. On a flop of 7s-Jc-3c, Alexander Roumeliotis made it 2,500 in seat one which Coren called from the button. The turn card brought a Th which Roumeliotis checked, only for Coren to make it 10,000 now, enough to deter any more business from her opponent. She’s up to 30,000 now.

One Team PokerStars Pro headed in the other direction though is Andre Akkari. The Brazilian busted early in level 11, getting his chips in with pocket tens on the flop only to run into aces.
